My running buddy is a giant 80lb Goldendoodle named Rudy. One morning when we were suiting up for our run I noticed he was limping. I was sad to leave him behind but that run taught me a lesson on the value of my relationship with clients. (Stick with me here.)
Rudy and I usually stick to the same short or long route. On this particular day, I had the time and chose to go the long route (the path less traveled). At about 2.5 miles in I realized I had missed a turn and wandered off route. Running is like therapy for me. I must have been so lost in thought I missed a turn without even noticing.
Dogs don’t get lost in thought. If Rudy was there, he would have stopped and looked at me to signal we were going off course. Light bulbs went off. My job as a freelance writer and content marketer is similar to your running buddy. We decide where you want your business to be and it’s my job to help you get there.
